Free Google Hangout Event

Engaging with Virtual Communities: Black Twitter & Beyond
Presented by the PRSA-SF Diversity & Inclusion committee

Thursday - June 2
1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

People of color and diverse audiences have long been left out of and misrepresented in mainstream media. Now, social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are enabling groups to start powerful social movements like #BlackLivesMatter, #NotAllMuslims, #SayHerName and #StopGamerGate that change the media conversation.

Join us June 2 for a Google Hangout to discuss how Black Twitter and other virtual communities can shift the media landscape in a meaningful way – and how we can help transform biased narratives, speak up against injustices and change the face of media for good.

Ask questions, share ideas and discuss how we can actively and authentically connect and engage with diverse groups on social platforms.
