Can you believe award season is here again? Neither can we!

Despite it sneaking up on us too, we are excited for the 3rd Annual PRSA San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Awards Program (The Foggies)! The Foggies provide an opportunity for us all to reflect on and celebrate our successes over the past year (and it has been another one for the books, hasn’t it?!).

We recognize the Bay Area’s best public relations programs and the brightest professionals who bring them to life. As you prepare your submissions, we wanted to share some helpful hints and answers to your most frequently asked questions:

Do I have to be a member of PRSA and/or the PRSA-SF chapter to participate?

No! This awards program is open to all public relations and communications professionals from agencies, consultancies, in-house teams and nonprofits across the Bay Area. However, PRSA-SF chapter members do receive a discounted entry fee.

How much does an entry cost?

Through August 31:

  • PRSA-SF Chapter members = $99
  • PRSA General members = $125
  • Non-members = $150

Late entries (through September 10) will be charged a $25 late fee.

We also have one (1) free category available this year, as well. The Corporate Social Responsibility Honor Award recognizes the top corporate social responsibility communications plans, tactics, programs and/or campaigns for a specific widespread issue. In 2021, we are looking at efforts related to mental health awareness and campaigns of support for individuals, employees and the community, especially in light of the effects of the pandemic and extended quarantine.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes! Two minor exceptions, however, but you may not nominate the same agency for the small, midsize and big agency awards nor the same person for the rising star and professional of the year awards.

For the agency sizes, do we use our staff headcount for the San Francisco office or the entire agency (if we have multiple locations)?

The headcount refers to your entire staff based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Do I have to include an attachment?

Yes. Each submission must include a 300-word overview AND supporting materials in PDF Format. This PDF should include four key elements: Objective, Strategy, Execution and Results. These can also be presented as a traditional Research, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation structure.

Entries for Team and Personal Awards must include the 300-word overview, but  may include examples of work as supporting materials.

When are submissions due?

Entries are accepted through August 31 at the regular entry rate, and late entries can be submitted through September 10.

How do I apply?

You can submit your entry on our new awards platform. You will need to complete a short registration page first, then you can complete your awards submission.

Anything else I should know?

New this year, you can finish, update or edit your submission up until the regular entry deadline of August 31, 2021!

Who can I contact for more information or if I have more questions?

Please reach out to our 2021 Awards Director, Katina Tinka Bush, at info@prsasf.org with any additional questions.
